Murtabak Cheese Leleh 4 Lapis

Pak Din Murtabak, Jalan TAR, Kuala Lumpur

A four-layer murtabak stuffed with a blend of mozzarella, cheddar, and cream cheese that creates an extreme cheese pull when cut open. The video of the cheese pull has been viewed over 2 million times on TikTok.

What makes this different from regular cheese murtabak is the layering technique — Pak Din folds four separate sheets of dough with cheese between each layer, then pan-fries it until the outside is crispy but the inside is molten. He finishes it with a drizzle of honey and a sprinkle of black sesame.

The result is a textural masterpiece: shattering crispy roti on the outside, stretchy melted cheese on the inside, with the traditional spiced minced meat filling providing a savoury anchor. At RM18, it's priced above typical murtabak but the portion is generous enough for two.

Pak Din says he was inspired by Turkish börek and Korean cheese toast. The queue now stretches 30-40 minutes during peak hours.
